We develop construction plans and specifications that retain elements
of the structure that have been functioning to keep costs down. On most remodel projects we visit the site before critical elements are covered in an effort to solve problems early and increase overall quality of the contractor's work, which keeps
delays at a minimum. |

We work with the homeowner, builder and architect to create dream homes. These plans usually involve unique requirements with project specific details. These homes are “one of a kind” so we provide unique solutions using known products and methods in new ways. As these are dream homes, we stay involved throughout the construction process so that late needs and desires can be incorporated through efficient plan updates. |

These projects are always unique, requiring special
detailing and thorough field review. The challenge of these
projects are offset by greater potential rewards for the project
owners, but require considerable effort in developing
plans. | |

Our goal is to develop plans that can be used repeatedly, taking advantage of economy of scale. We stay involved while various plans and elevations are being built for the first time. Typically after the plans have been built and the marketing departments have made improvements, we revise the plans to show what will be built over the few years houses are being sold by the developer. When homes are built on a large scale many circumstances arise that can change individual houses. Sometimes, years into the project, we will be called in to provide a special correction. |

On occasion homeowners, builders, real estate agents and banks will request that we investigate evidence of structural distress. SDA will give an unbiased, written opinion and schematic corrective designs for a nominal fee. Typically one site visit with a written summary will cost $350 plus any travel time out of Brentwood. |

Many projects have design requirements other than the just a building shell. These may include retaining walls, swimming pools, activity specific requirements, fountains, stairs, etc. These are fun projects that require true creativity. |
